The Active Families Programme is a pilot programme that commenced in 2009, where 12 trainers received CYQ Level 1 Award in Lifestyle Management, which was development by Noel Munnis, NC3 Leisure Solutions and University of Ulster. These trainers delivered programme in their local areas throughout the year 09/10.

Active Families trainers are staff situated throughout the 5 council areas of L'Derry, Limavady, Fermanagh, Strabane & Omagh and have successfully completed a CYQ Level 1 Award in Lifestyle Management, specialised training developed by NC3 Leisure Solutions and University of Ulster.

The Active Families Programme aims to help encourage positive lifestyle choices through the involvement of parents/guardians & teenagers in a 12 week course. It is designed to deliver a preventive message around the main risk factors of coronary heart disease and alcohol misuse. Course dates coming soon!
